A paediatric first aid certificate is recommended by the HSE for teachers, school support staff, nursary staff and others working with children (under the age of puberty). Our courses include competency in paediatric cpr (resuscitation).
Note: this course has been designed to conform to Ofsted criteria for paediatric first aid certificates suitable for childminders an others seeking to become Ofsted registered.
Duration: 2 day Price: £130 per person or £1200 for 12 people.
Its important that a good proportion of your staff have a basic paediatric first aid training - at least enough that at least one person on site has a paediatric first aid certificate and at least one person on all off-site trips.

• Dealing with emergencies
• Resuscitation Techniques
• Recognising and dealing with shock
• Recognising and dealing appropriately to anaphylactic shock
• Recognising and dealing appropriately to electric shock
• Recognising and dealing appropriately to bleeding
• Burns and Scalds
Day Two
• Choking
• Suspected fractures
• Head, neck and back injuries
• Poisoning
• Dealing with foreign bodies in eyes, ears and noses
• Eye injuries
• Bites and stings
• Effects of extreme heat and cold
• Febrile convulsions
• Responding to the needs of chronic medical conditions including epilepsy, asthma, sickle cell anaemia and diabetes
• Recognising and responding appropriately to sudden and serious illnesses such as meningitis
