Accommodation for School Trips

Camping on Dartmoor:

Camping can be arranged at various locations around south Dartmoor. This provides a real outdoor experience and is a great option for the budget conscious. This is for schools who would like to do their own thing and can either set up their own camp kitchen, get the kids to cook their own food on camp stoves or hire Indie Outdoors to provide catering.

Tented village:

A novel experience with tents provided by Indie Outdoors laid out in little groups like a village. Two marquees are provided including a fully equipped kitchen, benches and dining tables. The tables can be cleared away in the evenings for games or even movies projected onto the walls of the marquee. Lighting is provided in the marquees at night.

Mobile toilet and shower facilities are provided.

Buckfast Abbey:

A selection of three wonderful newly converted accommodation blocks operated by Buckfast Abbey. Much posher than a traditional bunkhouse with twins and doubles for teachers. Fully equipped catering kitchen and dining room, games room, outdoor space, living room, there are excellent facilities. This is a truly comfortable place to stay.

• Accommodation £17 per person per night.
• Full board catered: £36 per person per night.

B&B:

Most B&Bs in Devon only have a few rooms so this option is mostly for teachers and staff to stay in luxury though it could be arranged for a small school group to stay in one or more B&Bs.

• Prices from £30 per person per night breakfast only.
• Those staying in a B&B can eat evening meals with the rest of the group if the rest of the group are staying elsewhere.
